1. Overview
On 23 January 2024, Neftaly, in partnership with the Department of Social Development, successfully delivered a computer training session to 3 participants. This training forms part of Neftaly’s ongoing commitment to equipping individuals with essential digital skills to enhance their employability and participation in the digital economy.
2. Objectives of the Training
- To introduce participants to fundamental computer concepts and operations
- To build practical digital literacy and computer skills
- To improve participants’ confidence and ability to use digital tools effectively
- To strengthen collaborative efforts in community skills development
3. Training Content Covered
The session focused on the following key computer skills:
- Introduction to Computer Hardware and Software
- Basic Computer Operations: Using the keyboard and mouse, navigating the operating system
- Microsoft Office Overview: Word processing, creating spreadsheets, and presentations
- Internet Use and Email Setup: Safe browsing, searching information, creating and managing email accounts
- Digital Communication Basics: Using email and instant messaging for communication

- All 3 participants were engaged in both theoretical instruction and practical exercises
- Participants actively asked questions and participated in discussions
- A brief assessment was conducted to measure knowledge acquisition and confidence levels
