Sustainable Practices in Travel Arrangements
Neftaly Travel and Tourism Office | Under Neftaly Development Royalty
In alignment with Neftaly’s commitment to sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of business travel, each employee who undertakes work-related travel during June is required to submit a brief impact report. This report is intended to capture the employee’s personal contribution toward reducing carbon emissions as well as any challenges they encountered when making sustainable travel choices.
1. Purpose of the Impact Report
The impact report enables Neftaly to:
- Document individual efforts contributing to the company’s overall carbon reduction goals.
- Identify practical challenges employees face in adopting eco-friendly travel options.
- Gain insights for improving travel policies and support systems.
- Foster a culture of accountability and environmental responsibility among employees.
2. Content of the Impact Report
Employees should include the following key information in their report:
- Travel Details: Brief summary of the trip including destination, dates, and purpose.
- Sustainable Choices Made: Description of eco-friendly travel decisions, such as selecting low-emission transportation (electric vehicles, trains), choosing green-certified lodging, or participating in carbon offset programs.
- Estimated Carbon Emission Reduction: If possible, an estimate or qualitative assessment of how their choices contributed to lowering carbon emissions compared to traditional travel options.
- Challenges Faced: Any difficulties or barriers encountered while trying to use sustainable travel options, including availability issues, cost concerns, or logistical complications.
- Suggestions: Recommendations for how Neftaly can better support sustainable travel, improve resources, or remove obstacles.
3. Submission Guidelines
- Who: All employees who traveled for business in June.
- Format: A concise written report, approximately 200-300 words.
- Deadline: Submit within five (5) working days after completing the trip.
- Submission Method: Through the designated online platform provided by the Neftaly Travel and Tourism Office.
4. Use of Reports
The Travel and Tourism Office will review all impact reports to:
- Track employee contributions to carbon emission reductions.
- Identify common challenges to improve travel arrangements and policies.
- Highlight best practices and success stories internally.
- Inform future initiatives and sustainability strategies.
5. Support and Recognition
- Templates and examples will be made available to assist employees in preparing their reports.
- Employees who provide valuable insights or demonstrate leadership in sustainable travel may be recognized in Neftaly’s sustainability communications.
- Assistance will be provided to anyone needing help with report submission.
By submitting these brief impact reports, Neftaly employees actively participate in the company’s sustainability journey and contribute valuable feedback to strengthen green travel initiatives. This practice is a critical part of the June SCDR-6 Sustainable Practices Program led by the Neftaly Travel and Tourism Office under Neftaly Development Royalty.
