1. Overview
On 15 August 2023, Neftaly, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Social Development, successfully delivered nutritious daily meals to 03 beneficiaries in the Diepsloot community. This ongoing initiative is part of Neftaly’s broader goal to combat food insecurity and support vulnerable populations with basic nutritional needs.
2. Objectives of the Program
- To provide nutritious, well-balanced meals to individuals in need
- To reduce hunger and contribute to improved health outcomes
- To restore dignity through reliable, respectful food support
- To strengthen collaborative efforts in addressing food poverty
- To encourage continued engagement in Neftaly’s other developmental programs
3. Meal Content Provided
The meals provided on the day included:
- Main Meal: Samp and beans with beef stew
- Side: Seasonal fruit (apple)
- Beverage: Clean bottled water
All meals were prepared according to recommended health and nutritional standards to support general well-being.
4. Participant Engagement
- All 03 recipients received their meals with gratitude
- Open dialogue was encouraged, and participants shared brief feedback on food quality and preferences
- Participants expressed appreciation for the continuity and consistency of the meal program
- Information about additional Neftaly services was also shared

Challenges:
- Limited scale of daily meal distribution, impacting reach
- Occasional delays in delivery due to traffic congestion
Recommendations:
- Explore scaling the program to reach more individuals daily
- Consider pre-packaged or mobile distribution points to improve access
- Continue gathering feedback for improved meal planning and delivery
7. Conclusion
The Daily Meal Program implemented on 15 August 2023 by Neftaly, in collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Social Development, was a meaningful intervention that addressed immediate food insecurity for vulnerable individuals. Neftaly remains dedicated to expanding access to basic nutrition while continuing to promote dignity, health, and social support in underserved communities.
