2018 marked another important year in the journey of Neftaly Charity. Guided by our mission to empower communities through education, skills development, and social innovation, we reached more people, built stronger partnerships, and made meaningful progress in addressing youth unemployment, poverty, and inequality.
2. Message from the Chairperson
On behalf of the Board, I extend my deepest gratitude to all our partners, donors, staff, and volunteers who made 2018 a success. This year demonstrated that collaboration is essential to creating sustainable change. We remain committed to building programmes that improve lives, strengthen communities, and give young people hope for the future.
3. Chief Executive Officer’s Report
2018 was a year of growth, learning, and impact for Neftaly Charity. We expanded our programmes into new communities and saw a significant increase in participation. Our focus areas included:
- Education & Training: Providing ICT, life skills, and entrepreneurship training.
- Youth Empowerment: Equipping young people with tools for personal development and employment readiness.
- Community Development: Supporting vulnerable families with food parcels, counselling, and referrals.
Despite challenges in funding, Neftaly continued to deliver quality services to those who need them most.
4. Key Achievements in 2018
- 5,240 beneficiaries reached through training and community programmes.
- ICT Skills Training delivered to 1,100 youth in partnership with corporate donors.
- Life Skills & Personal Development workshops conducted for 850 participants.
- Job Readiness Programmes supported 420 young people to secure internships and work opportunities.
- Community Support Services including counselling and food aid assisted 500 households.
- Established 3 new partnerships with local businesses and international NGOs.
5. Programme Highlights
Education & ICT Skills
Neftaly provided practical ICT training to help bridge the digital divide. Our courses improved employability and gave participants confidence to pursue career opportunities.
Youth Empowerment
Through mentorship, leadership camps, and personal development sessions, young people were given a platform to unlock their potential.
Community Development
Neftaly continued to work closely with the Gauteng Department of Social Development to deliver essential services to families in distress.
